Belgium-based famous "Le Soir" newspaper focused on the “Peace through Women” conference organized in the Belgium Parliament by the Azerbaijan State Committee for Diaspora which also involved Azeri-Turkish Women’s Union, according to “Yeni Belturk” newspaper published in Belgium in Turkish.
The conference which was held in Belgium in May brought together representative of the Belgium parliament Dominik Tilmans, head of Azeri-Turkish Women’s Union Tanzila Rustamkhanli, foreign and UN diplomats in this country as well as Armenian representatives.
The recent tension on the Azerbaijan-Armenia contact line and losses incurred by Azerbaijan as a result of ceasefire violation are the reasons why the newspaper highlighted the conference in its head cover once again. The newspaper says Azerbaijan enjoys strong strategic ties with Turkey. It adds that occupation of Azerbaijan’s lands by Armenia will be discussed in the upcoming UN sessions.
In the article, Dominik Tilmans says head of Azeri-Turkish Women’s Union Tanzila Rustamkhanli and Armenian representative Rima Arekelyan have been invited to participate in a second conference to be held in Tbilisi on Sept. 21 on the World Peace Day. They will discuss what women can do to eliminate the tension on the contact line of the two countries.
