Kazakhstan's Majlis, lower chamber of the parliament, has ratified the Nakhchivan agreement on establishing the Cooperation Council of the Turkic-speaking countries.

The agreement was signed at the summit of the leaders of Turkic-speaking countries in Nakhchivan last October.
The document provides for establishing of permanent secretariat in Istanbul to conduct monitoring of decisions.
The secretariat will be funded by the specially formed budget. The agreement will come into force after its ratification by the three participant countries. Azerbaijani and Turkish parliaments have already ratified the agreement.
