Azerbaijani Defense Ministry: Armenia does not rely on its own strength

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has responded to a statement by Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian claiming that Russia will protect Armenia in case the country faces a threat of attack.

Spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Lieutenant Colonel Eldar Sabiroglu says that Ohanian's statement confirms that Armenia is not an independent state and does not rely on its strength.

"There is great reason to call Armenia a dependent country. Seyran Ohanian says Russia will protect Armenia in event Azerbaijan attacks it. This suggests that they are not able to defend their country themselves," Sabiroglu added.
