Police prevent opposition's unauthorized rally outside OSCE office in Baku

31 August 2010 [14:08] - TODAY.AZ
The attempt by the opposition Modern Musavat party to hold an unauthorized rally outside the OSCE office in Baku has been prevented.
Law enforcement officials did not let the picketers enter office of the building. About 20 party members chanted slogans demanding the leadership of the OSCE Office in Baku to resign, an officer on the scene said.

The protesters managed to convey the party's appeal to the organization's office. Modern Musavat accuses the organization of an attempt to create chaos in the country, fomenting discord among the political parties and organizing secret meetings with some of the radical opposition groups in run up to elections.

Azerbaijan will hold parliamentary elections on Nov. 7, 2010.
