TurkPA secretary general meets UN resident-coordinator in Azerbaijan

The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) Secretary-General Ramil Hasanov has met with Fikret Akcura, UN resident-coordinator and UNDP representative in Azerbaijan.

Hasanov highlighted the activities of TurkPA, saying that as part of the international cooperation, the organization has established bilateral relations and interaction with OSCE PA, PACE, NATO PA, European Parliament, Parliamentary Assembly of South European Countries, CIS PA, and Asian Security and Cooperation Council.

Akcura said he highly values the creation of TurkPA and its international ties. He said he will support TurkPA's joining the UN International Governmental organization.

TurkPA was established at a plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries held with the participation of parliamentary delegations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey in Baku.
