Kazakh Ambassador visits Azerbaijan's Tovuz region

During the visit, Primbetov was provided with information about the map of Azerbaijan, was shown a stand reflecting the information about how ancestral lands of Azerbaijan were shared and distributed to neighboring countries. Then, Primbetov visited the Martyrs' Alley and the Koran was read for the souls of martyrs in the local mosque.

During the visit, Primbetov met with Tovuz Region Executive Power Head Tofig Zeynalov. The Ambassador was informed about the geographical position, strategic importance, tourist and economic potential of the area. Zeynalov informed the guests that the area is developing day by day, and is ready to receive business people doing business in various fields.

"Agriculture highly developed in our region. We are ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan in this field," Zeynalov said.

Pashayeva said Kazakhstan is one of the friendly countries of Azerbaijan. One of the regions of Kazakhstan could become a brother of the Tovuz region and it could increase cooperation between the two countries, she said.

Primbetov said he would pay particular attention to this. "We need to think about announcing the cities of Aktau and Tovuz as brother cities," he said.

In turn, Pashayeva noted that one of the streets in Tovuz will be named "Kazakhstan" as a symbol of friendship between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Ambassador was presented the saz (national musical instrument). Ambassador, in turn, presented the book about the history Turks and Kazakhstan.

Pashayeva said this is first visit by Kazakh Ambassador to Tovuz. "The fact that the ambassador of this country toured the border village and saw first-hand the situation is a very significant event," she said.

"Mr. Ambassador personally saw the harsh living conditions in border villages. Witnessed how the Armenians violate the normal course of life of civilians. Kazakhstan is a country that recognizes and supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. We are confident that during its chairmanship in OSCE, Kazakhstan will further active in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Pashayeva said.

Primbetov continued his visit to border villages of Azerbaijan. He familiarized with the house and school that destroyed as a result of shelling of the Alibayli village by the Armenian Armed forces. The diplomat was informed that the villagers' normal activities constantly violated due to frequent violations of ceasefire by the Armenian armed forces, they can not engage in agriculture.

Primbetov spoke with the residents who wounded during the shootings. He was informed about the horrific conditions that they faced. Then, he traveled to the Agdam village. Pashayeva informed Primbetov about the cemetery destroyed by Armenians in the village. According to her, the cemetery is constantly shelled by the Armeniam armed forces. As a result, villagers can not bury their loved ones here.

Primbetov said the arsons, blocking of the channel supplying water to border villages and the destruction of the cemetery, as well as other acts committed by Armenians, contrary to international principles.

"We want a peaceful resolution to the conflict. OSCE Minsk Group has some serious work in this direction. Kazakhstan, being a member of OSCE, is informed about what is happening, and we are the supporters of settlement of the conflict on the basis of the Madrid Principles," he said.

Primbetov got acquainted with the archeological excavations in Goytepe. He was informed that the monument belongs to the 6 millennium BC, and that the excavations conducted here for three years.
