President Ilham Aliyev receives Turkish minister of state for foreign trade

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received today Turkish minister of state responsible for foreign trade Zafer Caglayan and his accompanying delegation.
The Head of State expressed confidence that the Turkish minister`s visit would be successful.

The President noted Azerbaijan and Turkey had opportunities to expand the economic cooperation even more which he described as “good”.

President Ilham Aliyev also stressed the importance of the fact that Caglayan is accompanied by Turkish businessmen, expressing hope that they will establish business ties with their Azerbaijani colleagues. Zafer Caglayan, in turn, conveyed greetings of Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Azerbaijani leader.

The Minister praised the fact that the development processes laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan had been successfully continued. Caglayan said there had been a tremendous progress in Baku since his last visit here in 2009.

The Turkish minister pointed out despite the global financial crisis, Azerbaijan`s economy increased 9 percent in 2009. He congratulated President Ilham Aliyev for the great accomplishments gained in the country.

For his part, President Ilham Aliyev said great development processes were underway in Azerbaijan. The President also expressed confidence that fraternal relations between the countries would continue to develop.

The Head of State asked Zafer Caglayan to extend his greetings to Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
