Azerbaijan sees a 49% increase in defense production

Azerbaijan has registered 49% increase in production of defense items and 6,1% in the production of civil products year-on-year, Minister Yaver Jamalov said at a meeting on outcomes of the first half of the year.

Results of the operational, financial and business associations and enterprises, as well as upcoming measures were discussed at a meeting in accordance with the work plan. During the reporting period, defense items worth 24 million manat were produced. This year, according to the program of the state defense order, it is planned to create 108 products on 98 subjects, and it will cover 241 stages.

During the reporting period, about 15 of those steps have already been implemented, 19 - on the stage of completion. The reports of heads of associations and enterprises were heard. Instructions were given to fulfill the programme of the state defense order, and other predictable indicators.
