Azerbaijan Central Election Commission's chief meets NDI regional director

Chairman of Azerbaijan Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov has met today Laura Jewett, National Democratic Institute's regional director for Eurasia and Alex Grigorievs, director for Azerbaijan.

Panahov praised the CEC's cooperation with international organizations.

Laura Jewett said the NDI has been cooperating with the CEC since 1998.

She also inquired about the ongoing preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.

Jewett expressed confidence that the elections will be held successfully.

Panahov briefed the visitors on the preparations for the forthcoming elections. He noted the elections would be held in a democratic and transparent manner.

The sides also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between CEC and NDI.
