The European Union's foreign policy director, Catherine Ashton, strongly condemned Friday the suicide attack that killed at least 27 people in a mosque in Zahedan, capital of the Sistan-Beluchistan province in south-eastern Iran, DPA reported.
Ashton "strongly condemns these cowardly terrorist attacks for which there is no justification," her spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic said in a statement.
The EU's top diplomat "sends her condolences and expresses her solidarity with the families and friends of the victims," the spokeswoman added.
