15 July 2010 [13:35] - TODAY.AZ
After split in the opposition Azadliq Bloc, talks to create a new opposition bloc have been launched, Azerbaijani Democratic Party Chairman Sardar Jalaloglu said.

"There is a trend in Azerbaijan to create two opposition alliances. We have decided to wait for this trend to show itself. Then we will voice our opinion. We negotiate and exchange views with the various forces. The negotiations have not given any results yet. Therefore, I believe that it is not worth to disclose the details, " Jalaloglu added.

Former Azadliq Bloc member Azerbaijani National Independence Party has started negotiations with the Musavat party to create a new bloc.

Other parties within Azadliq reacted sharply to the move, and called for completely shutting down the bloc.

Azadliq includes Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, the Liberal Party, and the Citizens and Development Party.

It is possible to create a new opposition bloc, the party chairman Ali Aliyev said.

Meetings and consultations are held with MP Panah Huseyin, chairman of Umid party Igbal Aghazadeh, chairman of Civil Development party Ali Aliyev, Jalaloglu said.

"We want to evaluate all opportunities not to take wrong decisions", the party chairman said.
