Portuguese FM to visit Azerbaijan - UPDATE

Azerbaijan and Portugal will sign a memorandum on political consultations between the two countries' foreign ministries. The document will be signed during Portugal's Foreign Minister Luis Amado's forthcoming visit to Baku, Advisor to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Morocco and Portugal Anar Madatli said.

Amado will pay a visit to Azerbaijan on July 15, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

During the visit, Amado will hold talks with his Azerbaijani Counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, after which the two ministers will make press statements.

This is the first official visit of the Portuguese Foreign Minister to Azerbaijan, Madatli added.

Amado will leave Azerbaijan for Almaty to attend the informal meeting of the OSCE foreign ministers to be held on July 16-17.
