
The NGO Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA) made a proposal to increase the number of seats in the country's parliament.
"Number of voters increased in Azerbaijan compared to previous years. Therefore, it would be advisable to increase the number of deputies in accordance with the number of voters in the regions," ACSDA Electoral Staff Head Maharram Zulfugarli said at the news briefing held in Trend conference center.
Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for Nov.7. ACSDA implements a program to promote the improvement of legislation and electoral practices to achieve greater transparency and democratic elections. The Association plans to monitor the parliamentary elections this year.
The Electoral staff has already completed the first phase of the program prepared in the run up to the elections.
