U.S. Congressmen support Matthew Bryza as the new Ambassador to Azerbaijan

A group of U.S. congressmen including Solomon Ortiz, Michael McMahon, Michael Conaway, Bill Shuster, Sue Myrick and Shelley Moore Capito have sent a letter to the Congress voicing support for Matthew Bryza`s candidacy as new ambassador of the country to Azerbaijan.

The congressmen said in the letter that Azerbaijan was a strategic partner of the United States in both military and economic spheres. “That is why we ask you to analyze this candidacy thoroughly”, they said in the letter.

They recommended the Congress to speed up the procedure of Matthew Bryza`s appointment as ambassador to Azerbaijan. The White House nominated the candidacy of Matthew Bryza as U.S. new ambassador to Azerbaijan on May 25.
