President Ilham Aliyev visited country's Lerik region

President Ilham Aliyev has today visited a “Shahidler” monument complex here to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity. The President laid flowers at the Eternal Flame monument.

The total area of the complex is 650 square meters. It has got a fountain and green areas.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev inspected Friday reconstruction of the central hospital here.

A photo stand was opened at the foyer reflecting care and attention of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the healthcare sector in the country.

The President was informed that the four-storey building holds 2100 square meters of floor space. The 90-bed hospital has been equipped with modern medical equipment. The hospital will employ about 200 people.

The Head of State praised the work done here and gave relevant instructions and recommendations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated a museum of long-livers here on June 25. The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility and toured it.

President Ilham Aliyev was told it was not coincidence that the museum had been established in Lerik. The region is recognized across the world as a land of long-livers. Currently, more than 20 people over 100 years of age live in Lerik. The museum is one of a kind in the world. More than two thousands exhibits, interesting news and photos have gone on display at the museum.

The facility will attract more tourists to the town of Lerik.

President Ilham Aliyev inspected reconstruction of the Culture Center here on Friday.
The reconstruction gave a modern look to the center built in 1973. Aliyev saw a photo stand featuring rebuilding activities and tourism potential in the region. Tens of new recreation centers and tourism facilities have been built in the region over the last years.

The President viewed the exhibition featuring schoolchildren`s handicrafts, decorative artworks and paintings.

The Head of State also saw the exhibition of agricultural products and wide range of other goods produced here. The exhibition showcased mineral waters, products from beekeeping, musical instruments, furniture, drugs and other items.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the work done and gave instructions and recommendations.

The President was warmly welcomed by local residents. The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the center which covers 420 square meters.

Photos and documents reflecting various periods of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity have gone on display at the center. The facility was established to popularize national leader Heydar Aliyev`s political heritage. There are interesting books at the center`s library featuring the life and activity of the national leader.

The center has been equipped with necessary facilities. President Ilham Aliyev signed the center`s guest book.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in the region of Lerik, as part of his south region tour on June 25.

The Head of State visited a monument to the national leader in the Heydar Aliyev Square.
President Ilham Aliyev inspected reconstruction work done in the square. The square, whose total area is 8.200 sq.meters, got modern benches and new lighting system.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done in the Heydar Aliyev square and gave certain instructions.
