Azerbaijani expert: Azerbaijani army needs just 6 days to liberate Armenia-occupied lands

23 June 2010 [18:15] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani political expert Mubariz Ahmadoglu says the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will not interfere in case of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by a use of force.
“The recent tragic events in Kyrgyzstan that claimed over 200 lives showed that the CSTO has no mechanisms to influence armed conflicts as a peacekeeping military organization,” said Mubariz Ahmadoglu, Director of the Center for Political Innovation and Technology.

"Despite the official appeal by Kyrgyzstan's interim leader to assist, the CSTO leadership held 12-day discussions and has not yet sent peacekeeping contingent to the country. This gives grounds to predict the actions of the CSTO in the event of a military action to liberate Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenian occupation,” the expert said.

“CSTO officials have openly declared that if Karabakh war starts, CSTO leaders will convene. We witnessed what is result of such meetings in case of Kyrgyzstan,” the expert added.

“The CSTO leadership is able only to convene only in 12 days and fail to adopt no decision. But Azerbaijani army needs just 6 days to liberate occupied territories,” he said.
