Azerbaijan and UAE citizens with diplomatic passports to travel visa-free?

On June 9th, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and his counterpart from United Arab Emirates (UAE) Tariq Al Haidan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on visa-free regime for persons holding diplomatic passports.
Following the signing ceremony, they held a joint news conference. Khalafov praised current state of bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and UAE. The Deputy Minister said they had discussions on prospects for development of relationship between the two countries.

“We discussed all aspects of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international affairs. Relations between our countries are developing. We also touched upon new areas of cooperation,” he said.

UAE deputy minister of foreign affairs said his visit aims to further strengthen bilateral ties. He hailed the present level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and UAE. Haidan pointed out that the two countries had signed various agreements covering different issues including elimination of double taxation, promotion of investments and aviation service.

UAE deputy minister stated that the MOU signed will contribute to developing bilateral relations.
