The 9th session of the joint inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation between the Federal Assembly of Russia and Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan has been held at the State Duma in Moscow.
The meeting was co-chaired by Svetlana Orlova, Vice-Speaker of the RF Federal Council and Valeh Alasgarov, Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis. Addressing the meeting, Svetlana Orlova has given a high appreciation to inter-parliamentary and inter-state relations between Azerbaijan and Russia and called for closer cooperation and support of the two countries on international scene.

Alasgarov said: “Our parliaments enjoy high-level interaction, however our states` positions must be backed reciprocally.”

“If Russia supports Azerbaijan's stance regarding the painful problems at the international level, Azerbaijan will be able to guarantee active support of a position of Russia,” Alasgarov said.

The Azerbaijani and Russian parliamentarians have discussed a wide spectrum of questions.
