US Senate to begin hearings on Matthew Bryza's nomination within couple of weeks

US diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan welcomes Matthew Bryza’s nomination to the post of US ambassador to Baku. “We are happy for Matthew Bryza’s nomination. President Barack Obama made very successful choice because Matthew Bryza knows the region and we believe that he will be appointed”.

Davidson said there was close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States. “Some people were saying that it was negative message from the United States to delay diplomatic appointment, but you see it was connected with the system”, said Davidson.

Regarding the Armenian politicians’ negative opinion about this issue, Davidson said it was the Armenia’s position. “We approach the issue from the position of the United States”, said the diplomat.
