Does Russian foreign ministry support the "elections" in Karabakh?

24 May 2010 [13:07] - TODAY.AZ
Russian foreign ministry issued statement on the “parliamentary elections” conducted by the Nagorno Karabakh separatists, official website of the Russian foreign ministry said.
Spokesman for the Russian foreign ministry Andrei Nesterenko said Russia, France and the United States made joint statement on this issue.

“I would like to add that Russia supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and other norms and principles of international law. We don’t recognize independence of Nagorno Karabakh. We consider that the status of Nagorno Karabakh must be determined without use of force and through the political negotiations conducted between the sides within the OSCE Minsk Group. Moscow doesn’t think that the process of the peaceful settlement of the conflict depends on the elections in Nagorno Karabakh. Russia together with its Minsk Group co-chair partners will make serious efforts to assist Azerbaijanis and Armenians to solve the Karabakh problem soon," Nesterenko said.
