First ladies of Azerbaijan and Georgia meet

Azerbaijan's First Lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva has met Georgia`s first lady Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs.

Mrs. Aliyeva said: “Our meetings have already become a tradition. Each meeting between us marks the start of a new project.”

The Azerbaijani First Lady praised joint educational and health projects realized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Georgian SOCO Foundation, which is headed by the Georgian first lady.

Roelofs informed the Azerbaijani first lady of the activities of the Rare Disease Alliance, a branch of the SOCO Foundation, which provides help to children with blood cancer. Roelofs said she leads a delegation involving experts of the Rare Disease Alliance, who will conduct an exchange of experience with their Azeri counterparts.
