Azerbaijani official: Country will compensate loss to the farmers

Prices for agricultural products will not increase as a result of torrents in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov said. "Perhaps some people take advantage of the situation to increase the price," Abbasov added.  

According to him, Azerbaijan does not face and is not expected to face deficit of agricultural products.

Speaking on the elimination of problems caused by mudflows, Abbasov said grain producers suffered big losses. Farmers who are engaged in the production of vegetables and melons are likely to launch the process of re-sowing in the next few days, he added.

Abbasov said all persons who suffered damage from the floods, will receive a compensation, amount of which will be determined after calculating the damage. "Compensation will be given even to persons, who have suffered damage in his own economy," he said.
