Azerbaijani President attends ceremony on 65-th anniversary of victory over fascism

Today, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended a solemn ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the World War II.

The President was warmly welcomed by war veterans and residents of the capital Baku in front of a monument to Major-General Hazi Aslanov, two-time Hero of the Soviet Union. The President greeted the veterans and congratulated them on the Victory day.

The Head of State laid a wreath at the monument, and posed for photographs together with the veterans. The President then chatted with family members of Hazi Aslanov.

Among the participants of the event were Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh, Speaker Ogtay Asadov, Chief of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and other officials.
