Azerbaijan to be represented by deputy FM at CE Ministers Committee meeting

Azerbaijan will be represented at the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe by the Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev, Foreign Ministry spokesman Elkhan Polukhov said.

May 11, Strasbourg will host the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the CE member states. It is expected that at the meeting chaired by the Foreign Minister and current Chair of the Committee of Ministers Micheline Calmy-Rey will focus on the future of the European Court of Human Rights and the results of the Interlaken Conference, the roles and responsibilities of the CE, CE activity in connection with the situation in Georgia, relations between the CE and the European Union, the reforms in the CE.

Following the meeting, Chairmanship over the Council of Europe will be transferred to Macedonia for the next six months.
