
The current parliamentary elections will be held at a higher level compared to the elections of 2005, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament said.
"After conducting more transparent and democratic elections, Azerbaijan actually will enter a new phase of building democracy," deputy chairman of the committee on international and interparliamentary relations of the Azerbaijani Parliament Gultekin Hajibeyli said.
The Parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn this year. Previously, elections took place in November 2005. In Azerbaijan, parliamentary elections are held by the majority system in 125 electoral districts.
She said that after each elections, the European institutions evaluated this process as another step towards European standards. "I am convinced that other elections will be not only a step towards European standards, but will be evaluated as the elections, meeting these standards. There are all the conditions and opportunities for this," MP said.
