Azerbaijani President receives Pakistani Defense Secretary

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Pakistan's Defense Secretary Syed Athar Ali.
The President expressed confidence the Pakistani Defense Secretary's visit would feature discussions on “important issues” related to the bilateral cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations and partnership.

The Azerbaijani leader said his country was interested in expanding its cooperation with Pakistan, stressing “there are good opportunities to get it done in the military field and defense industry”.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked Pakistan for supporting Azerbaijan's “just” position during the voting on a resolution on the situation in the country's occupied territories at the Organization of the Islamic Conference and UN Security Council, and also for not recognizing Armenia because of its military aggression against Azerbaijan.

The President reaffirmed Azerbaijan's backing of Pakistan's stance on the Kashmir conflict.
Syed Athar Ali praised the Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations.

The Pakistani Defense Secretary stressed the importance of the fact the two countries support each other`s stances on the international scale.

Syed Athar Ali called the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict Azerbaijan's “most critical problem”, adding this is the reason why Pakistan does not recognize Armenia.
