Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will pay a visit to Italy and the Vatican in late April.

Mammadyarov's visit to Italy is scheduled for April 28 on Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini's invitation, Azerbaijani ambassador to Italy Emil Karimov told Trend.
Within Mammadyarov's visit meetings with his Italian counterpart, as well as this country's minister of economy are scheduled, which will discuss political and economic cooperation, Karimov said.
The meetings will focus on interrelation within the regional and international cooperation.
Mammadyarov will visit Vatican on April 29th on Foreign Minister of the Holy See Archbishop Dominique Mamberti's invitation, Azerbaijani ambassador to France and Vatican Elchin Amirbeyov said.
During Mammadyarov's meetings with Vatican's officials the sides will discuss bilateral cooperation, will exchange views on regional and international issues, Amirbeyov said. The agenda of the talks will also include the opening of the Embassy of the Holy See in Azerbaijan.
Amirbeyov discussed preparations for the visit with officials of the Holy See. Amirbeyov informed First Deputy Foreign Minister about the current situation around the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the OSCE Minsk Group's efforts, and Azerbaijan's position on this issue.
