Azerbaijani ambassador holds meetings in Vatican

Elchin Amirbayov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France accredited to the Holy Altar during his visit to Vatican held a number of meetings with local officials.

While meeting the foreign minister of Vatican Archbishop Dominic Vamperso, the Ambassador discussed the status and prospects of multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vatican and the opening of the Embassy of Vatican in Azerbaijan.

Amirbayov also reaffirmed Azerbaijan's position on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The sides also dwelled on the upcoming visits of the Azeri foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Italy and Archbishop Dominic Vamperso's visit to Azerbaijan.

During his trip to Vatican, Ambassador Elchin Amirbayov also met members of Vatican`s administration, including culture ministry official, deputy foreign minister of Vatican, etc.
