Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy launches new program

The purpose of the program is to enhance support for outstanding Azerbaijanis who are pursuing or have recently completed their PhD studies abroad and to attract PhDs back to Azerbaijan and ADA.

The program is conducted through research fellowships and workshops to be held in Washington and London, gathering both Azerbaijani and foreign PhDs, with a concluding conference in Baku on December 20-21.

The workshop to be held in Washington on June 4-5, is designed for Azerbaijani PhDs trained in North America.

ADA rector Hafiz Pashayev stressed the importance of the program, stating that it "should pave the way to prevent the brain drain, which is a pressing problem today, and return of Doctors of Philosophy who studied abroad to Azerbaijan".

At the same time, the program will create a network of Azerbaijanis studying abroad, increase  awareness of the international academic community about Azerbaijan, and turn ADA into a platform for academic debates, Pashayev said.
