Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Safar Abiyev met on Saturday US Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy, the press service of Defense Ministry reported.
At the meeting, during which the issues of military cooperation were discussed, parties exchanged views on the military-political situation in South Caucasus and tensions in the region posed by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
According to the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, if the member countries of OSCE Minsk Group will not exert greater influence on Armenia, then to achieve peace in the region would not be possible. In this case, as the minister said, Azerbaijan will be forced to resort to other methods.
The meeting was also attended by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States Yashar Aliyev.
