Speaker of Azerbaijani parliament meets chief of China-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group

Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) Ogtay Asadov met chief of China-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Ley Mingchiu.
Mr. Asadov expressed his deep sympathy to the government of China for earthquake victims. Chairman also praised the Azerbaijan-China relations. Numerous agreements signed during the visits of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to China gave an impulse to all-round development of relations.

Asadov said that occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenians impedes development of the region. He expressed his gratitude to the government of China for support of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.

He said commodity turnover between the two countries were growing. He also stressed a particular role of the two countries' parliaments in expanding bilateral relations.

Mr. Minghui said aim of the visit is to boost cooperation between the parliaments. He praised reforms being implemented in the country. He said China attaches high importance to relations with Azerbaijan.

The government of China supports sovereignty of Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh conflict must be solved on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, Mr. Minghui added.
