Azerbaijan awards PACE President honorary doctorate

Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) President Movlud Cavusoglu was awarded a honorary doctorate of the Azerbaijan Languages University. Today, Cavusoglu met with teachers and students at the university.

Rector of the University Samad Seyidov said Cavusoglu did much for Azerbaijan's integration into Europe and introduction of the European values in the country. The University's Scientific Council decided to award Cavusoglu an Honorary Doctorate.

Azerbaijan is a very important country for the Council of Europe, Cavusoglu said adding that Azerbaijan needs the structure's help for integration into Europe.

"I could not get a doctorate rank in connection with political activities, and today I am awarded with a honorary doctorate," Cavusoglu said.

Cavusoglu is on official visit to Azerbaijan from Apr.13. Today, Cavusoglu will visit the Ganja region (365 kilometers from Baku).
