Azerbaijan ruling party representatives to attend EPP conference

The New Azerbaijan Party will join the European People's Party's conference of ministers of economy and finance to be held in Madrid on Thursday.

The meeting will discuss prospects for development of relations among EPP member countries, financial problems and ways out of the global economic crisis.

YAP Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary, MP Ali Ahmadov emphasized YAP-EPP cooperation is steadily developing.

According to him, this cooperation is an important element for facilitating Azerbaijan's European integration. Ahmadov noted participation in the conference is an evidence of YAP's intense cooperation with European organizations and region`s largest parties.

Ali Ahmadov said EPP affiliates over Europe's 70 influential parties including ones headed by German chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy. He pointed out EPP President, Belgium Prime Minister Wilfred Martens' visit to Azerbaijan is a manifestation of importance EPP attaches to Azerbaijan.
