Azerbaijan, Mauritania sign new cooperation documents

Azerbaijan and Mauritania signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the sphere of culture' and 'Protocol on Cooperation between the foreign ministries'.

The documents were signed during Mauritanian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Naha Mint Mouknass's Baku visit, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting with Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Mouknass praised the level of bilateral relation and noted the existing potential for their development.

Noting the need to demonstrate a common position in international organizations, Mammadyarov emphasized the importance of Mauritania's support to Azerbaijan on the country's fair position in the discussions over the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in UN.

He also noted the large potential for cooperation between the two countries in economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
