Azerbaijani President received Vietnamese deputy premier

On April 8, Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev received a Vietnamese delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, AzerTAc state news agency reported. Hoang Trung Hai invited, on behalf of Vietnam's President, the Azerbaijani leader to visit his country.

Hoang Trung Hai said Vietnamese "still remember a 1983 visit by Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam".

He said Vietnamese who once studied in Azerbaijan "today contribute to development of their country".

Hoang Trung Hai said Vietnam is interested in enhancing relations with Azerbaijan, stressing the importance of creating relevant legal basis.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of the visit by "such a high-level Vietnamese delegation" for the bilateral relations.

The Azerbaijani leader expressed confidence the visit would be a "success".

The President said there is "good potential" for expanding the Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations, and stressed the importance of increasing the bilateral trade, making mutual investment and implementing concrete projects.
