US Congressman Michael McMahon, who recently joined the caucus on Azerbaijan in Congress, and stood against the so-called Armenian genocide, believes that the sooner Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is resolved, the better it will be for Turkey-Armenia normalization.
“The occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh is standing in the way of normalization process between Armenia and Turkey. It is also preventing Armenia from focusing on what is important – mainly the extreme poverty that exists in the country,” Mr. McMahon said.
Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, US Congressman pointed out that, the defrosting process of any protracted negotiations is not easy, “but some revival concerning Azerbaijan-Armenian normalization was noticed recently.
“I think that Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and the USA, are open for new policy, adhered by the international community,” he added.
Mr. McMahon also mentioned that, he fully supports fundamental principles proposed by Minsk Group.
Congressmen McMahon is a very valuable friend of US Azeris and Turks and works for the world peace.
