Azerbaijani MP: Armenia not to achieve adoption of document on nonuse of force in resolving conflicts at OSCE

01 March 2010 [19:27] - TODAY.AZ
The Armenian delegation will not achieve adoption of the document on nonuse of force in resolving conflicts during the summer session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, said the head of the committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

"Each country may submit certain documents for discussion during the session of OSCE PA, but Azerbaijan will not allow the adoption of the document to refuse the use of force in resolving conflicts," head of the human rights committee of the Parliament, member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE PA Rabiyat Aslanova said.

Armenian delegation to the OSCE PA intends to present to the summer session of the organization the paper on nonuse of force in resolving conflicts.

Fearing Azerbaijan's statements about the possibility of a military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict if the conflict fails to be resolved peacefully, Armenia wants to bring this issue to the agenda of the OSCE, Aslanova added.

"This attempt is doomed to failure because the Azerbaijani side opposed the adoption of this document, and we will prove that we are right. If the fair demands of Azerbaijan are not be satisfied by the international organizations, and real assessment is not given to this, the war is not excluded. We shall persist in this matter and will stick to our position in the OSCE and other organizations. International organizations must have will to resolve the problem, otherwise Azerbaijan may chose a war to solve the conflict," the MP noted.
