Azerbaijan-Germany relations discussed in Baku

As part of his trip to Baku, Johannes Regenbrecht, head of the German Foreign Ministry`s division for the Southern Caucasus and Central Asia has visited today Center for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijan President.

The talks focused on the current state of and prospects for relationship between Azerbaijan and Germany.

They said reciprocal visits and political dialogue between the two countries contribute to developing bilateral cooperation.

They also stressed the necessity of expanding humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

Regenbrecht also made a presentation on Germany`s policy in the South Caucasus in terms of regional and global political tendencies.

He said his country was keen on cooperation with the South Caucasus countries.

Regenbrecht also touched upon the ongoing processes in the region, EU Neighborhood Policy, Eastern Partnership program, energy cooperation and international security.

Members of the Diplomatic Corps, officials of the Foreign Ministry and experts were present in the meeting.
