French president may visit Azerbaijan

“President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to France was very successful”, chief of the international relations department of the Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov said.

He said this visit once more showed that relations between the two countries were in a high level.

“I saw once again that the national leader Heydar Aliyev was a great political and state figure. He made his first official visit to France. President Ilham Aliyev also made his first official visit to France. This visit showed that we have very good relations with this country not depending whosoever is the president of France," he said.

"It became clear during the negotiations that France attaches exceptional significance to Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus and doesn’t compare its cooperation with any other country. France was also an initiator of the idea to make relations at the level of strategic partnership in future. It has great significance," he added.

"One of the documents signed there was about the diplomatic passports that envisage free travel. Our cooperation is in very high level and France intends to develop it further. I believe the French president may visit Azerbaijan next year”.
