Symposium “Human rights problems of Turks and our Muslims compatriots in recent history” has ended in Bursa, Turkey.

About 100 representatives from 50 countries attended the symposium.
Final declaration was adopted at the end of the event.
The document covers a number of issues proposed by the participants.
The final document also covered the proposals of the Azerbaijani delegation.
Member of the delegation Ganira Pashayeva spoke about violated rights of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis deported from Armenia in 1948-1953 and in early 1990s and the genocides committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis.
The parliamentarian offered the Turks living all over the world to declare 2010 as “Year of Karabakh and Khojaly”.
Pashayeva offered the Turks living all over the world to hold actions, marches, meetings in connection with the Khojaly genocide and raise awareness about it.
"Each of us should inform public community and mass media of our countries about these realities, send letters to international organizations, particularly human right organizations to protest the Khojaly genocide committed by Armenia and turning of one million Azerbaijanis into refugees and internally displaced persons," she said.
"The Khojaly genocide committed by Armenia before the world’s eyes is a tragedy of not only the Azerbaijani Turks, but all Turkic world."
Pashayeva noted that she made sure during the conference that Turkic and Muslim world asks more support from Azerbaijan.
“Most speakers at the symposium asked support from Azerbaijan. Regardless of our Karabakh problem, I was proud of position of our Turk and Muslim brothers. This is due to Azerbaijan's influence in the Turkic and Muslim world," she added.
