Turkish organizations in U.S. propose Armenians to reconcile

15 December 2009 [12:41] - TODAY.AZ
American Turkish organizations call on the U.S. Congress members to reconcile them with Armenians.
A number of Turkish Diaspora organizations, including Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA), Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) have proposed the Congress members to urge Armenians to reconcile with Turks instead of digging out historical problems.

The Turkish organizations are stating out that while the Turkish Armenian normalization is taking place and the Turkish-Armenian relationship is quite critical, Armenian Diaspora is raising “genocide” claims at the U.S. Congress.

"Despite that there is another task for them – to solve their real problems with Turks and Azerbaijanis."

They believe if the Congress members support the Armenians’ claims, it will be a huge mistake and a serious blow to the normalization process between the two nations.

Therefore, the U.S. Turks urge the Congress members to reconcile the two nations, but not cause confrontation between them.
