05 December 2009 [12:53] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan’s National Assembly of Youth Organization has issued a statement of protest against the report entitled “Winds of change in Nagorno Karabakh” recently aired by Euronews.
“We are as a youth of Azerbaijan are stating that Karabakh is an ancient inhabitance of Azerbaijanis and is an integral part of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan used to be a house to all nations living in this territory and is going to be a place of living in the future as well,” the statement said.

“With expressing our concern regarding the absence of positive changes in solution of Karabakh conflict, serious efforts in this direction, indifference of international community to this injustice and double standards based approach of international organizations to this case we would like to tell that Armenia is showing non – constructive position.”

“We highly appreciate the position of international community which recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan Republic through resolutions, decisions and declarations adopted in international and intergovernmental level. The demands of the numerous resolutions and declarations adopted by the UN Security Council and General Assembly, OSCE, PACE, OIC and other international organizations criticizing the occupational policy of Armenia, calling for return of Internally Displaced People to their own lands have not still been implemented by Armenia,” the organization said in a statement.

“Unfortunately, the report about Karabakh aired on the “Euronews” TV Channel presents the history of Karabakh, information about the reason of the conflict in distorted form,” it said in a statement.

“This report casts doubt on solution of Karabakh conflict, achieving progress in diplomatic negotiations and establishment of stability, peace and security in the region.”

“The National Assembly of Youth Organization of the Republic of Azerbaijan urges to disprove the report titled “Winds of change in Nagorno Karabakh”, to remove it from the air and website and also broadcast position of Azerbaijani side as well given the fact that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory is occupied as a result of Armenian aggression, more than 1 million people are living a refugee and IDP life. The conflict has claimed 20, 000 lives and wounded 50,000 from Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan hs also suffered financial damage worth more than 60 billion US Dollars,” the statement said.
