Slovenian President Danilo Turk paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on Nov. 9.

President of Slovenia Danilo Turk ended his official visit to Azerbaijan on Nov. 10.
Slovenian president and his wife were seen off at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport by first Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov and other officials.
Azerbaijan and Slovenia signed five documents on different spheres of cooperation during the Slovenian president’s official visit to Azerbaijan.

On Nov. 10, Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Danilo Turk of Slovenia
attended the Azerbaijan-Slovenia business forum here.
The forum brought together 70 businessmen from Slovenia and 90 entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan.
The Heads of State addressed the event.
President Ilham Aliyev noted Slovenian Leader Danilo Turk`s official visit to Azerbaijan would give a kick-start to expansion of ties between the two countries in all fields including the economic one.
The Head of State pointed out high-level political ties between the countries provide opportunities for developing economic relations.
Azerbaijan President wished every success to the forum participants.
President of Slovenia Danilo Turk thanked his Azerbaijani counterpart for the hospitality.
He said Slovenia achieved much success in developing information and communication technology and alternative energy sources and is ready to share its experience with Azerbaijan.

On Nov. 10, President of Slovenia Danilo Turk and his spouse Barbara Miklic Turk visited a monument to hero of the Soviet Union Mehdi Huseynzade, who fought against fascism during the World War II and heroically died in Slovenia.
Head of Slovenia laid a wreath at the monument of Azerbaijan's brave son.

President of Slovenia Danilo Turk and his spouse Barbara Miklic Turk visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Here, the Slovenian President and his spouse were welcomed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
President Ilham Aliyev briefed his Slovenian counterpart on the aims of the Foundation which was established in memory of Azerbaijan`s nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.
The Slovenian leader and his spouse became familiar with the items from the nationwide leader`s personal archive, documents, photos and books featuring different periods of his lifetime and carrier and gifts presented to him by eminent political figures.
President Ilham Aliyev said “today`s powerful and rich Azerbaijan successfully goes ahead in a way defined by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev”.
He noted founder of the modern Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev became a source of national proud of Azerbaijanis, and he earned the name of nationwide leader.
The Head of State pointed out the tenure of the nationwide leader is one of the most glorious pages in the history of Azerbaijan.
President Danilo Turk signed the Foundation`s guest book.
The Presidents and First Ladies watched a film about the activity of the Foundation.

Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva hosted an official reception in honor of President of Slovenia Danilo Turk and his spouse Barbara Miklic Turk at the Gulustan palace.
The Presidents made speeches at the event.

Slovenian President Danilo Turk met here the Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov on Nov. 9.
Parties had comprehensive exchange of views on versatile and successful development of bilateral relations in all fields. As stated, reciprocal visits of top officials of both countries` gave impetus to bilateral cooperation.
Signing of five agreements on cooperation between the two countries will create firm ground for further partnership and cooperation, Asadov noted. At his words, Azerbaijan plays in the South Caucasus the similar role which Slovenia plays in the Balkan region.
Azerbaijan could benefit experience of Slovenia how to become EU member, he stressed. The Speaker, in particular, reminded the Eastern Partnership program being successfully implemented in Azerbaijan.
The first official visit of Slovenian president was rich in impressions, so, he expressed pleasure with being in the capital of Azerbaijan. At his words, Slovenia and Azerbaijan have similarity from the point of view of historical development.

A ceremony of signing the documents between Azerbaijan and Slovenia was held on Nov. 9 in the presence of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Slovenia Danilo Turk.
The presidents signed a joint statement on the establishment of strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Republic of Slovenia.
Memorandum of cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and Slovenian International Trust Fund for Demining and Support to Mine Victims was signed by ANAMA director Nazim Ismayilov and his Slovenian counterpart Goran Gachnik.
Ministry of Energy and Industry of Azerbaijan and Slovenian Ministry of Economy signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of energy and industry.
The document was signed by Minister of Energy and Industry of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev and Slovenian Minister for Development and European Affairs Mitya Gaspari.
Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev and Slovenian Minister for Development and European Affairs Mitya Gaspari signed the memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry for Economic Development of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Economy of Slovenia.
The last document signed between the countries was an agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Slovenia on lifting visa regime for the persons with diplomatic passports.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and Slovenian Minister for Development and European Affairs Mitya Gaspari.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have today met Slovenian President Danilo Turk and his wife Barbara Miklic Turk.
The presidents then continued their meeting in private.
Both Ilham Aliyev and Danilo Turk praised the Azerbaijani-Slovenian relations.
They noted the two countries have good potential to expand economic cooperation.
The presidents also stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits.

A ceremonial guard of honor was lined up at the square decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and Slovenia.
The Slovenian leader and his wife Barbara Miklic Turk were welcomed here by Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.
The two presidents inspected the guard of honor as a military orchestra played the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Slovenia.
Azerbaijani officials were introduced to Danilo Turk, while members of the Slovenian delegation to President Ilham Aliyev.
The Presidents and their spouses then posed for photographs.
