Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze addressed the Russian president renouncing his Russian citizenship.

“I addressed the Russian president about renouncing my Russian citizenship and sent my Russian passport together with a letter to Moscow. I would like to ease their work because Russian Constitution specifies no procedure about withdrawal of citizenship," the Georgian foreign minister said.
On Nov. 3, member of the Russian State Duma (parliament) Semen Bagdasarov asked to launch relevant procedures to deprive Vashadze of Russian citizenship.
Vashadze received the Russian passport in 1991 and became the Georgian citizen in 2004.
