GUAM secretariat attends int'l nuclear security forum

On Oct.. 28-30, the Diplomatic Academy at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry hosted the forum organized by the Research Information-Analytical Center LEX with the assistance of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry as part of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism.

The forum discussed international cooperation, legislative and regulatory infrastructure, safety and physical protection of nuclear installations, nuclear materials, , detecting nuclear and radioactive materials at borders and in other locations, and responding to illegal and malicious acts.

The forum was attended by representatives of the Terrorism Prevention Branch of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, IAEA  Office for Nuclear Security, the GUAM Secretariat, relevant organizations from Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Russia, Belarus and Lithuania.
