“No countries enjoy such fraternal relations that exist between Azerbaijan and Turkey”, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Turkey`s Grand National Assembly Murat Mercan told Wednesday Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov.
Mercan said the purpose of the visit is to exchange views with Azeri parliamentarians on boosting bilateral ties.
He reiterated Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan`s opinion voiced in Azerbaijan`s parliament during his trip in May this year “we will not take any step to harm the peoples of Azerbaijan and Turkey”.
According to him, reciprocal visits by the two countries` parliamentarians contribute to deepening bilateral ties and solving the existing problems in the region.
Speaker Asadov stressed importance of reciprocal visits in terms of strengthening relations between the “fraternal countries”.
Asadov said “in certain times, some forces tried to undermine relationship between our peoples, but did not achieve their goals”.
He added “our relations are based on strong foundations”.
Asadov also expressed assurance that “our friendly and fraternal relations will continue to develop."
