People’s Socialist Party of Azerbaijan (PSPA) said in statement that in the course of campaign on nomination of candidates for country’s upcoming municipal elections the party’s candidates were nominated in 74 out of available 125 election districts.
The party's statement says, unfortunately, the party’s representatives were forced to register themselves as non-party as election commissions refused to register them as candidates on behalf of the party and did not allow recording their membership in PSPA in registration documents.
The election commission’s officials linked their move with the fact that currently PSPA is not officially registered as a political party.
“The Justice Ministry have accepted party’s documents and have not yet provided any feedback about their form or content," the party said.
