Azadlig bloc will decide participation in municipal elections soon: Azerbaijan Liberal Party

"The issue of participation of the Azerbaijan Liberal Part (ALP) in municipal elections is being discussed,” ALP Acting Chairman Avaz Temirkhan said.
"The decision on this matter is still pending. I think Azadlig (Freedom) bloc will meet soon on this occasion and adopt a joint decision,” he said.

"We will specify the information about the exact number of candidates for municipal elections and then issue a decision. This will happen in a few days” the acting chairman said.

Azadlig bloc includes Azerbaijan Popular Front Part, ALP and Citizens and Development Party.

Azerbaijan will hold municipal elections on Dec. 23. Elections will be held for 15, 682 places in the 1, 718 municipalities. All voters besides those with the status of internally displaced persons are illegible to participate in the municipal elections. Voting will take place in 118 constituencies.

Starting from Oct. 8 individuals participating in the municipal elections can nominate for the elections. The campaign to collect signatures will continue till Nov. 13.

Those who nominate themselves as candidates must submit the signatures of voters to the election commissions no later than Nov. 13.

Lists with signatures received after this date will not be accepted

According to the schedule, the registration of observers in the CEC will continue until Dec. 13 and in the district electoral commissions - till Dec. 18.

Organizations willing to hold “exit poll” are required submit documents to the CEC till Dec. 3.
