More than 7,000 candidates approved for municipal elections in Azerbaijan

The district election commissions have approved 7,126 candidates for 1,075 municipalities in Azerbaijan; 2,886 of them have higher education.
Nine political parties nominated candidates in the elections.

Lists for the collection of signatures have been provided to 5,828 candidates, the Central Election Commission said.

Already 73 of them have handed over lists of signatures and other required documents.

Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on Dec. 23.
