"Joint efforts are made not to move backwards in the Turkey-Armenia relations," Turkey's President Abdullah Gul told reporters after the meeting with Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan who arrived in the Turkish city of Bursa to watch Turkey-Armenia football match on Oct. 14, Anadolu news agency reported.

"We - I and my Armenian counterpart - try not to move backwards in the Turkey-Armenia relations," Gul said.

Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan at the
airport. The Turkish president organized a dinner in honor of his
Armenian counterpart.
After the dinner, the two countries' officials left for the Ataturk stadium in Bursa to watch the football match.
Commenting on these meetings, Abdullah Gul said they do not write the history, but create it.
The Turkey-Armenia football match ended with 2:0 in favor of Turkey.
Gul also added that his country has made successful steps in normalization of the relations with Armenia during the past two years.
